Creation residency and workshop “Cocinar a_San Fran”
Creation residency and workshop "Cocinar a_San Fran"

Research residency from June 3 to 9, 2019
A project in collaboration with the Sarean Team.
Although the origin of the word “saffron” is unknown, its name in different languages is very similar, having survived almost without alteration in Arabic (za`frān زعفران), English (saffron), French (safran), Italian (zafferano), Catalan (safrà), Basque (safran)
Cocinar A_San Fran proposed an investigation and collaborative cooking session in the San Francisco neighborhood to promote a meeting and exchange space on the stories that bustle in the area, and discover among the participants, the magical talent that makes this place, a place where many worlds fit, a precious collective saffron.
As a result of this stay, this fanzine was produced, collecting all the stories concerning the neighborhood and its people.
In a convivial and festive atmosphere, the participants shared some stories and proposals about the life of the neighborhood, while cutting carrots, tasting the stew, and adding a little more of salt and, setting the table, to share the delicacies prepared with neighbors and neighbors.
In the framework of Cocinar a_San Fran, we use the kitchen as a tool, not only to imagine and work around the neighborhood but also to create affective and social networks around a table.
The workshop was held on Sunday, June 9, in Plaza Corazón de María for two and a half hours, eating outdoors in the same square, offering what was cooked and experienced to the entire neighborhood. An outdoor format to generate alliances, complicities, and joys, which invites coexistence, to share culinary experiences, to enrich and facilitate the union between neighbors of different origins, ages, and cultures.
