“Dar lugar” conversation about hospitality
“Dar lugar” conversation about hospitality

On June 13, 2019, we invited Marina Garcés (professor at the UOC and philosopher from Barcelona) and Felwine Sarr (thinker and economist from Dakar) to a public conversation, outdoors in the Plaza de Letras, to think and share different ways and strategies of reestablishing or generating feelings of belonging to a common territory that are not marked by the origin of the people who inhabit it, but by the fact of living, sharing and intervening in it. A conversation held within the framework of the fourth edition of Grigri Pixel:
How to facilitate the encounter? How to make a “home” of the neighborhood or city? o What is it that makes us “neighbors”? Those are some of the questions that we will try to answer.
During this activity, was presented the manifesto and the work done in the previous Grigri Pixel workshops with SERCADE and the Vecinal de Las Letras association.
The objective of these activities was to outline a framework for reflection and common action that would serve as the basis for the two-week intensive workshop during the month of October at Medialab Prado. This intensive workshop will host representatives of initiatives of African origin and local and international participants for the collective design and construction of a grigri that summons and celebrates an open, plural and diverse idea of ”us”, through its implementation scene and activation in a public space in the Barrio de las Letras.
This activity was organized by Grigri Cultural Projects in collaboration with the UOC’s master’s degree in “Philosophy for contemporary challenges” and has the support of Casa África and the Institut Français de España.
